Praise His Holy Name

As I sit here in my comfortable home office, drinking a big mug of delectable coffee, preparing for a day of work and fellowship with my beloved family, I cannot keep my thoughts from how truly blessed I feel. There is a hint of guilt for having such a comfortable existence when others struggle to get through another day; but with that guilt He places on my heart a reminder of what I am to do here on Earth ~ take care of others. There is ministry to be done and I pray this moment that He will keep me vigilant in how I can serve someone this day, and this week. He also reminds me of how very much He loves me as His own, and how much He wants the desires of my heart to be realized. I praise His name for His provisions each day and for the opportunity to serve Him and show others the love of Christ that they may be compelled to want to know Christ, either as an introduction or in a fuller relationship.

This day depicts the life I have yearned for; my precious children at home, relaxed and enjoying the spirit and love of Christmas,  while we all have exciting opportunities that lie directly ahead of us. Each day brings forth more reasons to Praise His Holy Name, My Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

This time of year

I am absolutely nuts for the Christmas season! I am one of those people who cannot get enough of the music, the lights, the sounds, the smells, the traditions of Christmas. I like to think I am not consumed by the secular aspects of the holiday and that my love for the season is driven by the love that is inherent to the reason we celebrate. I love, love, love to give to others and this is not the only time of year that I participate in giving, but it is a time of year that is most acknowledged for giving. Giving, for me, is broader than material gifts - it includes the gift of fellowship, time, energy, thoughtful acts, and random acts of kindness. I try to consistently give throughout the year, thus not making December the exclusive time of sharing of self, but also find the atmosphere so inviting at this time. So, smile at the person waiting on you behind the counter; give a bit of your time to someone who needs a friend or a visit; read a book to a child; share the love of Christ and show the world who He is...the ONE we celebrate. Our King of Kings, Lord of Lords, Our Savior, Jesus Christ. Glory to God in the Highest, and on earth, peace, goodwill toward men!

In His Name

I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. ~Ephesians 4:1b

I really never expected to be a 'blogger' but decided if I can share something that may move someone else closer to Christ, then it is worth doing. I strive to live my life for Christ and to indeed live one worthy of the calling I have received. So, here we go.
